PU resins

Chemical Formula According to technical sheet

Abstract

In the paint industry, thermoplastic acrylic resins are used for their excellent gloss, transparency, and resistance to yellowing, making them ideal for fast-drying lacquers and varnishes. Hydroxylated acrylic resins, containing reactive –OH groups, are used in two-component polyurethane systems, offering high adhesion, gloss, and chemical, mechanical, and UV resistance. Meanwhile, water-based, low-VOC styrene-acrylic emulsions are widely used in architectural coatings due to their good washability, color retention, and balance between hardness and flexibility.

Description

  • Thermoplastic Acrylic Resins: 60% solids thermoplastic acrylic PU resins for masonry and road marking. Fast drying and excellent adhesion. Soluble with aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, and ethers. Compatible with chlorinated and phthalated plasticizers, vinyl resins, and chlorinated rubber.

Packaging: 200 kg drums.

  • Hydroxylated acrylic resins:

Solvent-based PU resins used in the industrial, automotive, and other sectors. Contains 70% OH4.2 in butyl acetate for single/two-component topcoats. High-quality two-component automotive and industrial primers. High-quality clearcoat topcoats. Soluble with aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, and Solveso 100/150. Compatible with Wannate HB75MX, Wannate TL75E, and Wannate HT90BS – aromatic and aliphatic isocyanates/catalysts.

Packaging: 220kg drums.

  • Styrene-acrylic emulsions:

It is a 50% solids, water-based emulsion copolymer that provides improved quality and gloss. It has a Tg of 18°C and is stabilized with surfactants. It delivers excellent gloss and is recommended for interior and exterior paints, among others. Packaging: 1050kg IBC.
